Ketoloco 12 Hour Session

Ketoloco Announce 12 Hour Bank Holiday Special with Astral Wayne

Fresh off the back of a sold-out 17th birthday reunion, Ketoloco is back for more with another FREE all-day, all-night rave at Number 90 on Sunday 27th August. This time round extended opening times of 5pm-5am make for a 12-hour Bank Holiday banger. Playing are London’s finest; Astral Wayne, Danny Vito, Osmaan, Chris G and Ben Clifford alongside residents Chris Halliday and Eddy Osborne so get registered for free tickets at dice - they all went last time, so do not sleep on it.

Ketoloco is all about DIY vibes, throwback dance floor hedonism and sticking two fingers up to convention. The 17th birthday was a sold-out roadblock that very much picked up where the last party, many years before, left off. And it was always that way - this party started in a basement of a student house in Headingley, Leeds and ended up attracting some of the city's most famous DJs from Paul Woolford to Ralph Lawson. The red walls of the small underground space were an homage to DC10 and were just as iconic. Until that was, the police got wind of what was going down and 70-odd of them put an end to the fun one unforgettable night. The party had already made its mark by then though and went on to be welcomed as a host at Back to Basics before throwing its own events in London and Ibiza.

That's the case again at Number 90 in August; they’ve just installed a brand spanking new d&b Audiotechnik sound system and this will be one of the first parties to pump it to the max. The venue is a big and airy former warehouse with large windows, a terrace onto the canal and a nice mix of street art and hanging plants, making a perfect setting for this 12-hour session.

Heading things up is sound lad and cultured selector Astral Wayne. His fresh blend of spaced-out breaks, slick minimal and garage-inflected house and dub is cool as you like. He's played it at some of Europe's most clued-up small parties and cultured festivals and released it on labels like Scratch Discs and Etiket. He is joined by Ketoloco founders and residents Chris Halliday and Eddie Osbourne who bring the famous original sound. Also joining is Paradise Loops, a much-loved party and mix series local to Hackney and run by Danny Vito who also brings Osmaan for backup power. The sound is cutting-edge and stripped-back house and further support comes from Chris G and Ben Clifford, a pair of top selectors, and Ketoloco regulars who used to play each month at the parties down at The Light Bar in Shoreditch.

There is still no party like a Ketoloco party - music over everything, zero fucks given, see you down the front.

Ketoloco 17th Anniversary

Ketoloco Returns for 17th Anniversary with Free All Day Party at Number 90, Hackney Wick.

The last true wild child of underground DIY party culture is back at Hackney Wick's Number 90 on 6th May 2023 to celebrate its 17th birthday. This will be the first Ketoloco in seven years and in true acid house spirit it's a free day-into-night rave that will be open to all during these hard financial times. To claim a free ticket head to dice.fm then get ready to go long to a proper house soundtrack supplied by former Hacienda, We Love and Renaissance resident Buckley, plus Gradient LDN DJs Osmaan and Tadeusz, Mui Mui RecordsE. Alexander, Push:On Leeds associates Danny Matthews and The Rustle, and founding Ketoloco residents Chris Halliday and Eddy Osborne

Ketoloco was initially an afterparty started in 2006 in a student basement in Headingley, Leeds by a bunch of house heads and DC:10 regulars. Before long, over 200 people were turning up each week to pack into the dark and dusty space which famously had red-painted walls in homage to the Ibizan powerhouse. Local heroes like Paul Woolford and Ralph Lawson got word and turned up for impromptu sets and then, one weekend, so did 70-odd coppers to shut the whole thing down.  The party went legit and began hosting a back room at Back to Basics before moving to London for regular day-into-night raves at The Light Bar in Shoreditch.

Now harking back to those golden days, this unmissable birthday party is at Hackney Wick's Number 90, an airy, double-height former warehouse with high windows and a terrace that backs out onto the canal. It has suitably stripped-back industrial vibes with loads of hanging plants and art installations dotted around to make it the perfect setting. A seriously meaty Function One system will supply the sounds and the Number 90 kitchen will offer an array of ribs, burgers and wings to keep you fuelled for the first two hours. Once day turns to night, the seating area is cleared to make more room for dancing.

Musically, the party represents the best of the London underground: Gradient and Mui Mui are known for their tasteful and on-point parties, radio shows, releases and selections so expect depth and headiness. Push:On, meanwhile, bring some of that famously loco Leeds party atmosphere and Ketoloco's main men Chris Halliday and Eddie Osbourne will serve up some timeless classics from over the years amongst classy contemporary sounds.

Ketoloco is a throwback to purer party times, hence its legendary reputation. Don't miss this chance to get a taste of the good stuff right in the heart of London.
